Want to help with Project Graduation, the all-night party for seniors on the night of graduation (5/30/18) at the East Communities YMCA? We're especially looking for junior parents, someone to create a slide show, and a food coordinator. Contact PTSA Programs Chair Laura DiCarlo if you can help with one of these tasks or if you'd like to join the email list. To sign up to sell tickets ahead of time or volunteer at the event, visit here.
    Junior Parent Night Survey
Did you attend the Junior Parent Night event on February 8th? If so, please take a few minutes to complete this short survey. We appreciate your time! Your feedback helps us with the programming of future events. Remember that all session handouts are available in the Document Library of Naviance. Parents: if you don't currently have an account but would like one, please email your student's school counselor. Please include your student's full name in the email and note if you have multiple students at LASA. Parent accounts will be linked to the student account.

LASA Su Casa Dinner Needs Your Help
The Latino and African-American Outreach Committees (LOC and AAOC) will host its LASA Su Casa welcome dinner for newly accepted Latino and African-American students and their families. During the evening, the new students will have the opportunity to speak with current students, families and LASA administrators, as well as to ask questions. The dinner will be held in the library on Friday, March 2, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Donations of bottled water, canned drinks and cookie trays will be greatly appreciated. In addition, volunteers are needed to help set up, serve and clean up. If you'd like to donate goodies or volunteer to help, please sign up. Thanks for your support.
Free LBJ/LASA Directory sponsored by the PTSA
The LBJ/LASA Family Directory sponsored by the PTSA has been live since October but many families don't know about this great resource! Directory information was taken from AISD year-end registration forms filled out for 2017-2018. Currently all families who agreed to participate in the school directory are in DirectorySpot. Room number, email address, and phone number of all LBJ and LASA faculty, staff, and administration are included as well. Go here and log in using the button on the top right side of the screen. Your login is the email address you used for AISD registration. If you have an existing DirectorySpot password for that email, it should work. If you registered with a different email address this year, then that email will be your new login. You can press reset password if you don't remember your pw.

Once you've logged in, use Family Search to find your family. Double click the box and it will send you to your family details. Make corrections by clicking on the appropriate box(es) that need editing. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and SAVE once changes are made. Corrections can only be made on the website - the phone app is read only.

Don't forget to download the phone app by searching DirectorySpot in your phone's app store - it's fabulous!

    UT Energy Olympiad Finalist
Last weekend, Shreya Ramanathan (freshman) had a fun time competing at the Energy Olympiad held at UT, as part of their Youth Energy Summit/Initiative. Out of the students and submissions across Texas high schools, Shreya was chosen to be one of the four finalists to compete for a prestigious award. The theme was along the United Nations Sustainability goals, and, she chose "Sustainable Infrastructure and Community." Her idea is to create a smart phone app to moderate and reduce congestion on Austin roads. Shreya is actively pursuing partners from the city and others to pursue her idea. For more information, please contact her.
